MUGABE QUITS THE STAGE
Former Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe died this Friday morning 6th September 2019 in a Singapore hospital where was receiving treatment for an unknown illness. The 95years old ex-states man’s death did not really shockk the world owing to his age. While countless number of people through the social media celebrate him for the great leader he was, others strongly castigated him for his failed leadership in the last years of his 37 years rule of the country.
Robert Mugabe born on the 21st of February 1924 in Southern Rhodesia was the first president of Zimbabwe and longest serving ruler in the world. He was ousted from power through a bloodless military coup that brought in his former right-hand man Emmerson Mnangagwa. He made his popularity in his fight against colonialism. Will be remember for his agrarian reforms that aimed took farm lands from white men living in his country to redistribute to black. This brought foreign economic sanctions to his country causing hyperinflation and unemployment. Mugabe was the father of Zimbabwe’s independence celebrated by many African countries including China.
