CAMEROON: VIRTUAL AMBAZONIAN REPUBLIC LEADER TAKES LIFE JAIL
Sisiku Ayuk Tabe president of the virtual republic of Ambazonia and 9 of his co accused finally sentenced to life imprisonment for charges ranging from hostility against the nation to secession and terrorism in a 16 hours deliberation that took place in the Military tribunal and ended at 5:30 am this morning in Yaounde.
The 54 years old separatist leader and his lieutenants were not only sentence to a jail term that his lawyers lead by Barrister Eta Bissong termed “oiled in advance”, but was also slammed with 250 billion francs find after 40 of his lawyers had abandoned the law suit.
Right now in the air looms questions like, what about the long awaited peace talk? what about the much spoken about back to school campaign in the affected regions that have been without school for almost 3 years now? will all this be possible after the new happenings? Observers think that this sentence could exacerbate tension in the two English speaking regions concerned with 3years old unrest.
Ayuk Tabe and co were caught in Nigeria and extradited in Cameroon in January 2018.
